Everyone says I have the best tongue in the city but there’s only one way to find out. Even people who don’t usually enjoy tongue will tell you: Caplansky knows how to serve tongue. Dirty? Thanks, Marc. It was dead quiet over the weekend thanks to the G20. We closed at 9pm on Friday and Saturday but Sunday was worse so we closed at 3 pm. I really can’t complain, at least all our windows are intact. My heart goes out to both the businesses who were attacked and the innocent people who were arrested or attacked by overzealous police. Thanks for your kind words. I stopped reading Chowhound back in September. Everyone has a right to have their say but that doesn’t mean I’m obliged to read it. All I can do is my best and I’ll I can be is what God made me. Or, as Dr. Seuss said “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.”

Zane,wondering how you are doing? Have you been personally affected by the G 20 or the week-end anarchist riots? I note in the Star that because of another proteste tonight,College Street is closed off (or part?) I am hoping to get down to your place this week, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday evening for dinner,so I can try your hot tongue sandwich,maybe a dessert,fries? In spite of all the negative comments by chowhound, I still think you are not only a mench but your deli is gold-a gem. every town/city that I visit on business has some special restaurant or deli to make me feel at home. Your deli is tops in my heart.

Fact: If it were not for Caplansky’s, I would never have tried eating chopped liver. Can’t say I loved it, but at least I TRIED it. So there!

And I say this every time, but every time I’m there, the wait staff are almost psychotically friendly. A tip of the hat to you, sir, for your wonderful establishment.
